Welcome to Dodds Coal Mining Company

Since 1956, Dodds Coal Mine has been family owned and operated. The coal mine is located approximately 90 km’s southeast of Edmonton. Dodds supplies heating coal for residential, commercial & agricultural applications, throughout western Canada.

Coal at Dodds has the following specifications:

  • 8500-9000 BTUs per pound.
  • Ash Content: Approximately 7%
  • Sulphur: less than 0.5%
  • Moisture: 20 to 25%
  • The average heat value per tonne of coal is 19.8 gigajoules.

  • Nut Coal $195/tonne 
  • Dry Stoker $195/tonne 
  • Oiled Stoker $200/tonne 
  • Stove Coal $200/tonne

We offer sub bituminous 'C' coal in a variety of sizes

Stoker - ¾"- 1½"
Nut - 2"- 2½"
Stove - 4” - 6"

The original mine site has been reclaimed into a 18 hole championship golf course complete with a club house, driving range and camping facilities. Check out their website coalcreek.ca for more information.
